Site Supervision and Rescue
Work at Height Regulations (WAHR), 2005 are the standard for all height-based activities in the UK.
They are divided into 14 sections of which 11 are of prime importance: organisation and planning, competence, avoidance of risks, selection of work equipment, requirements for work equipment, fragile surfaces, falling objects, danger areas, inspection of work equipment, inspection of working areas and duties of persons at work.
Pre-work (planning) phase is important. Work at height must be properly organised, appropriately supervised and emergency actions and rescue must be planned for before work begins. Operators must also be competent to undertake the work at height.
