First work experience in the wind energy industry

WP Group has interviewed their industrial employees from Latvia and Lithuania who have gained their first experience in the wind energy industry and have faced their first challenges. They shared some feedback regarding training and work.



Each year the demand for qualified professionals in the renewable energy sector increases. According to the statistics of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), by 2030 there will be short of more than 15,000 professionals in the wind energy industry in Germany. In particular, it relates to wind turbine rotor blade technicians.

To address this problem, the WP Group in co-operation with the training center IQTC (International Qualification & Training Center) has developed and implemented training modules for acquisition of qualification as a wind turbine rotor blade technician. After successful accomplishment of the training course all participants have had opportunity to be employed in the wind parks in Germany.
In order to evaluate how effective this intention has been in practice, we have interviewed our industrial employees from Latvia and Lithuania who have gained their first experience in the industry and have faced their first challenges. They gave us some feedback regarding training and work. They shared with their personal view on wind industry issues as well.
