IRATA is pleased to join forces with Rigg Access

IRATA and Rigg Access teaming up to supplying another industry first.

IRATA is pleased to join forces with Rigg Access to provide a new route for information and guidance on its own activities and rope access matters in general; it plans that these pages will provide valuable and fresh coverage that will suit all rope access companies and technicians. IRATA is the single trade association in the field that has members in every continent and offers training and accreditation that is approved around the world. The Association is constantly striving to improve its service to members and raise the profile of, and recognise commitment to, safe industrial rope access work wherever it is employed. It acknowledges that an increased level of communication is important and hopes this new source of information will prove beneficial to all Rigg Access clients. _ _ _ _ The Safety and Health Expo, held at the NEC Birmingham, from 17-19 May, has become the primary exhibition for professionals working in these fields. Past attendances have exceeded 17000 and this year could see those numbers doubled. IRATA member companies will again exhibit at the show and, this year, the Association’s input has substantially increased. A recent development has seen the creation of the Access Industry Forum which brings together the leading associations involved with working at height to discuss significant issues and generally look to bring attention to their activities. The AIF will hold a major conference on the middle day of the show and will conduct live demonstrations of their skills and/or equipment on each day; IRATA will be involved in both initiatives. The conference will be chaired by Ian Greenwood of the HSE and the IRATA speaker will be Jonathan Capper, Chairman of its Health, Safety and Equipment Committee, whose theme will be the diversity of rope access and the work solutions it can provide on- and offshore. Over 150 delegates have paid to attend this event. The action displays in the Access Live arena will include rope access demos on each day of the show by IRATA technicians from Spanset Ltd. IRATA’s positive involvement with the Access Industry Forum and the S&H Expo is just one on many moves being taken by the Association to further its own work and bring the commercial advantages of rope access work to a wider audience; it is a policy that can only benefit the industry _ _ _ _ Your contacts at IRATA are: Roderick Dymott, Chief Executive Officer 01276 857844 irata@rod.org.uk John Fairley, Secretary 01252 739141 john@irata.org Wendy Cooles, Administration 01252 739150 wendy@irata.org
