IRATA launches a new International Code of Practice

Having developed the use of industrial rope access around the world during the last 21 years IRATA introduce a new International code of practice.


FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Having developed the use of industrial rope access around the world during the last 21 years and managed its remarkable growth and safe use by means of the much admired IRATA Guidelines, IRATA International has moved to advance rope access knowledge and use even further by the publication of a wholly new International Code of Practice. This substantial publication will replace the Guidelines and become the means by which IRATA rope access will be trained and operated around the world. The Association already has in excess of 230 member companies around the world and has trained more that 30000 rope access technicians; it has members are in every continent and these businesses undertake in excess of five million working hours on ropes each year. The Associations proud record of safe working is unrivalled in this trade sector. Remarkably, the safe deployment of workmen on ropes has proved a substantial growth area in several trade sectors and this new publication will lead further expansion of the procedure.
