For some projects it may be preferable to purpose-build access equipment, or adapt existing systems. CAN has a great deal of experience in this and has full in-house design, engineering, fabrication and load testing facilities. Solutions that were initially developed for a specific site and then subsequently adapted for wider use include:
The advantages of rope access are significant for performing mechanical tasks at height.
CAN was responsible for the introduction of rope access to the offshore industry in 1986 and were founding members of the Industrial Rope Access Trade Association (IRATA).
Rope access is not CAN’s core business today but instead a method of access to perform trade based tasks. CAN currently provide trade based services, with or without, rope access services to a wide variety of clients at various offshore and onshore locations.
The advantages of rope access are significant for performing mechanical tasks at height. Traditional access solutions, such as scaffold, often have to be removed and reinstated during the course of a workscope to allow the works to progress. Rope access allows the worksite to remain largely free from obstruction, and when combined with our engineering and specialist access solutions large scale construction/deconstruction tasks can often be completed more safely and economically than conventional methods. CAN’s trade teams recently installed over 200 tonnes of steelwork, often cross hauling steel work into position, all performed without the requirement for scaffold.
are specifically designed to minimise intrusive inspections and CAN always strives to utilise non-intrusive methods wherever possible
CAN’s Inspection Services focus on conventional and specialised inspection and Non-Destructive Testing coupled with efficient management and cost-effective implementation. CAN is a Governmentally Approved UKAS Inspection Body with a Quality Management System certified to ISO 9001:2008. We provide a wide range of inspection services to clients in the energy industry sectors. Our NDT and Inspection services include:
